Team History

In 2014 Mark Hensman saw the demand for Airshows in China growing and established the Firestars Aerobatic Team, with four German built XtremeAir XA42 aerobatic aircraft permanently based in China. These aircraft are maintained by Mark Hensman. Pilots Mark Sampson and Jason Beamish joined the  team as wingmen.

From 2017 the Firestars Aerobatic Team operated under the names of The Aviators and Team Xtreme Airshows.

In 2021, during Covid airshow restrictions, Mark Hensman presented formation aerobatic training courses from Morningstar Airfield, Cape Town. During this time a new and exciting sponsorship opportunity arose with LEATT, an international sports brand, and the need for a new fully branded Aerobatic Team led to the formation of the MARKSMEN AEROBATIC TEAM.

Mark Hensman leads the MARKSMEN with Martin Shulze and Eugene du Preez as wingmen and Mark Sampson in #4 Box.

“We The Marksmen are a group of friends driven by the love of flying and a deep passion for aerobatics. We’ve spent thousands of hours forging skills aimed towards the highest levels of precision in the world’s finest aerobatic machines. We are super excited to have partnered with equally passionate people who share and appreciate the same values. We are immensely proud to be associated with Chris Leatt and the amazing Leatt team.” - Mark Hensman
